Soccer 2009

Last year was the first year that we ventured into the world of soccer. This year, DJ and Jacob played soccer for the junior high team at West Shamokin. Isaac played for UVSA again on the U8 team. And for the first time in an organized sport, Hannah played on the U6 team. It was an interesting season to say the least. I didn't get to as many of DJ and Jake's games as I would have liked, but the games that I did see were pretty good. They finished the season with a
13-3-1 record. Pretty impressive, Huh?! Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of them. I'm not sure why not. Probably because it rained for allot of the games that I made it to. So much rain that I actually got stuck trying to pull out of the grass by the soccer field!! Not fun. I tried to get DJ and Jake to push me out, but since I was driving the big beast van, it wasn't happening! Thankfully two of their teammates dads came to the rescue!!! Thanks Guys!

Isaac and Hannah

Isaac played on the U8 team this year. They had an awesome season, losing only one game! He was thrilled that his best buddy Gavin was on his team. The two of them made an awesome pair on the field. He had a number of goals, averaging at least one per game. He also made a bunch of assists as well as a few saves! He LOVES soccer! And I am happy to say that I am finally getting the hang of it. Keep in mind that I didn't grow up on soccer, so this is all still relatively new to me!

Bubba on the move!!

Hannah's soccer experience was a bit different than the boys. She enjoyed being on the team and when she felt like participating did quite well. But she was more into the social aspect of it. She enjoyed chatting to the other kids on her team but wasn't really into the actual game. It was a good experience for her, but I'm not sure if she'll be playing again next year.

This is how Hannah enjoyed the games!

Here is Hannah warming up before the game.

Here is Isaac and a few of his teammates cheering on Hannah and her team.

And of course whenever there are Houghs involved in anything, there are other Houghs along to watch and cheer them on!

Here is the king of the Whackadoodles, DJ!

Here is the always adorable Gianna!

The always happy and sweet baby boy, Aiden Joseph!

Finally...the one and only Noah Anthony!
