Back to school 2015
So we did it. We survived the move. We survived Jake's graduation party. And most recently (as in 30 minutes ago...) we survived going back to school. The house is quiet. Really really quiet. Peezy is still home with me, but right now, even he is gone. ( He went with DJ to take Coley over to Franciscan for her classes.) So, in this super rare and delicious quiet, I have poured myself a cup of coffee and uploaded the pictures that I took this morning. WOW. I cannot believe how big the middles and littles have gotten. I swear that it happened overnight or something. But there they are, looking all grown up in their uniforms. They were happy and actually looking forward to starting school. That is the answer to many prayers. You see, my kids are A LOT like me in that, none of us deals with change very well. We tend to get stomachaches and feel nauseated. We can't eat and have a hard time falling asleep. We keep tums and zantac on hand, always! Knowing this, I have been praying for an easy transition to school for all of us. God has, yet again, answered my prayers. Everyone fell right to sleep last night. Nobody was sick this morning. And they were all excited to start this new adventure in the Catholic school. It helped that yesterday Isaac had a great day of orientation at the junior high and the other kids were able to meet their teachers and see their classrooms. Isaac was smiling and talking to a group of boys when I picked him up. As the Hough family shorty, Gianna was relieved to find out that her locker was on the bottom. Hannah was thrilled to discover that a girl that she met at VBS was in her class. Noah saw a few kids that he knew from soccer, which calmed him down. And Aiden's teacher gave him a little bag of "jitter glitter" to help him fall asleep. Because they all seemed to be ok, I have been able to take a deep breath for the first time all summer. I think that we might actually do ok here in Steubenville...
