Voting is very important...we all know that by now! It makes me smile to see how important it has become to my kids. Everyday for the last couple of weeks the kids have come home from school talking about discussions that they had in class about the candidates and the elections. I have also been so proud to see how they have become so informed on different issues, particularly prolife issues. My heart gets all warm and fuzzy when I hear them talk about how important it is to protect the unborn and to protect those who can't protect themselves.

I woke up yesterday and decided to do something that I rarely do, take the little kids to daily mass by myself. I thought that it would do me some good to spend some time at church praying about the election before I went to vote. We made it on time and found seats. I spent the majority of mass trying to keep everyone quiet, so I didn't get a whole lot of prayer time in, but God knows my intentions were good. After mass was over, we were waiting to talk to Father Dan and a couple from our church that Brian and truly like and respect came up to the us and started talking to the kids. Mr Bernardi asked Isaac what he was doing for the rest of the day. Isaac proudly said that we were going to vote. "We are voting for John McCain, he protects babies!" We loaded up the van and headed to the polls. When we got there we walked in and Isaac walks right up the ladies working the table and said,"Where do we go to vote for John McCain?" So much for confidentiality! Not something that I have had alot of for a long time!

Unfortunately the election didn't go the way that we had hoped, and the kids were all pretty bummed. So were Brian and I, for that matter. But I know that whatever happens, we will be fine and that God has our back. Reguardless of who the president is, God WILL bless America. That I know.
